Chase was tasked with trying to bring back the sound of the Caribbean for Pirates instead of perpetuating the Western and European sound of what Pirates have been in Hollywood, specifically the Disney film franchise, “Pirates of the Caribbean”. The strong thematic and historical association of where Pirates in the Caribbean originated has been lost until Chase took up the mantle to revive and incorporate the culture back into game music.
